Starting his fore way into the music industry at 19, Jibril Osman started a music blog in the summer after his first year at Centennial College for his Advanced Diploma in Journalism, graduating from the program in 2017. Over the years, the blog expanded and allowed Jibril to land media passes for major festivals such as Canadian Music Week, NXNE, Manifesto, etc. As time went on, and as his portfolio continued to grow, Jibril would later intern for VIBE 105 and land his big break on the internet and overseas, freelancing for the U.K publication The 405 at 21. In 2018, at 23 years old, Jibril landed his first job in the music industry working for Steve Stoute’s company, United Masters, helping to grow the brand and Instagram from 24k followers to over 200k working alongside renowned writer Ernest Baker. Around this time, Jibril would freelance for the U.K Publication Clash Magazine, Toronto’s Rap Season, cover the iHeart Radio Much Music Awards and get his first byline in a Canadian publication with Beatroute. After completing over 100 artist interviews across multiple outlets with all types of genres, Jibril would later co-own and create the media and artist interview based platform Studio 01 with Mike Liang. In 2021, at 26 years old, after spending 7 years working for a majority of companies outside of Toronto, Jibril finally landed a job in Canada as a publicist for Sony Music Canada. On May 16, 2023 Jibril released his debut book, "Dancing With A Mask On." He held a book launch event at his former elementary school, Dunlace Public School. On July 8, 2023, Jibril had a book signing event at Chapters Indigo Yonge > Eglinton, the book is now available at Chapters Indigo, Sonic Boom Vinyl and on Amazon.
